Ep 7 | Mothers Day - The bittersweet emotions of grief and celebration

On this special Mother's Day episode, I journey through the memory of my incredible mother, a woman whose life was a testament to resilience and unwavering love. Listen in as I recount her humble beginnings in Sydney, the many challenges she faced as a single mother, and her determination to make a new life for us. Hear about the unique humor she possessed, a coping mechanism for her mental health struggles, and the remarkable strength she exhibited during her battle with cancer. This episode is an homage to her memory, to her laughter, her tears, and her warrior spirit that never ceased to inspire us.

In the latter half of the episode, I share the pain of losing a loved one to cancer and the grieving process that follows. Listen to my raw, unfiltered experience as a teenager grappling with rebellion, loneliness, and the numbness that comes with loss. I also recount the deep emotional bond that I developed with my mum during her third battle with cancer and the tough, heartbreaking conversations we had. Through it all, we managed to find joy in simple things like car karaoke on our way to chemo sessions. Join me as I navigate through my grief and honor the memory of my beloved mother, the woman whose love continues to shape my life even after her passing.
